What Color Red?

I know this has been addressed here before, but I'm hoping you can help me remember.
What color Testors (or Model Masters, etc.) is the best match for the 1:18 red striping?
Unfortunately my air brush has gone south, so I'm looking for something in a bottle, or rattle can.

Super Elite production numbers

This is my first post although I've been lurking for some time. I would like to commend everyone who contributes here for providing an enjoyable and informative site for Bat-aholics.
Does anyone know if the Super Elite Batmobile has been retired? If so, did Mattel disclose the actual number produced? I know they reneged on their initial promise limiting the edition to 1966 units. I was just wondering how many they did produce. Thanks in advance.

What about lowering the Elite and SE? We know that they both have the turbine engine under the hood, but is that going to be a problem? I haven't seen much discussion on this matter.

The 1:12th Batcycle should be hitting stores around Thanksgiving/early December 2009. Below is the B-Sheet from Mattel on the two versions--Elite and Standard "Mass." Yes, the image of the bike is of a 1:1 replica Batcycle and not of the actual diecast.

I just came back from Toys R Us here in Saginaw County, MI.

For those in the area, there are four new 1:18 scale 1966 Batmobiles on the shelf. $39.99 each. I am not very familiar with the different versions but a copyright date on the box is 2007.

Yesterday I had my taxes done and the shock of the condition of my current finances has knocked me down a couple pegs. Two weeks ago I would have picked one up but will have to pass on it for now.

Question about lighting kits. What do you want to see?

I just finished talking with our new electronics distributor. We started developing these last year and talked to several lighting people. The thing that we were waiting for is finally here and that's a tiny (dime sized) flickering fire circuit for the exhaust that wouldn't break the bank. We can specify pretty much any configuration we want for our lighting kits. However, I am not going to stock 7 different models. There will be ONE lighting kit available so I would like to know...

Painting the stripes question

I have been painting a lot of the details on my 1/18 Elite. So far I've done the dash lights, buttons, batram lever and detectascope. I've done the computer in the trunk, lights on the sides of the arch, painted the antler lights with clear red, various handles between the seats and under the arch and moved the bat phone. The only thing I'm having a hard time with is the stripes on the front of the hood. To those that have done this did you tape the area first (if so what type of...

Here's my Elite and Super Elite with painted chute cables gives the car alittle more color and makes it more attractive.Some of you out there may not agree, but what the heck the ass end could look alittle nicer.

If you had Mattel's ear what '66 TV Bat-product(s) would you want to see from them in '09 or '10? Please post your thoughts and I will be sharing it with them.

I will get your creative juices flowing... Here are some of my ideas/thoughts:
*1/18th scale Batboat
*1/18th scale R/C Batmobile
*1/18th scale Batmobile with figures & working lights

And yes I know...a '66 (circa) accurate Batmobile.
