Just to show the concave perspective....

These are white vinyl decals cut in mirrored form and hand laid on the back of this domed lens.

I had the help of a graphic computer artist to re-generate the type style and a good friend on the vinyl cutter programming to get the numbers ready for application (I personally applied each number increment by hand this morning); not...

Car has been wet sanded and polished; now the re-assembly begins. My Christmas present is a super straight body finish as it surpassed my expectations. Took some pics, but they don't do it justice so it will have to wait for the "unveiling video".

As I'll be busy for a couple weeks (doing you know what), I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Your bat has come a long way. I have enjoyed every post from day one. To see it in paint is simply fantastic.

Smith and Wesson ?.... LMAO!!!! .... if that were only "FOOL-PROOF"......

Thanks to the show warriors like Steve, Chris, etc. and the huge sacrifices they make..... I can feel better about tucking mine away without the tour exposures. Been there, done that with many cars and I can tell you that there are enough jerks in public...

Chris is correct....Smith and Wesson is probably the only thing that works, because not much else that I've tried has stopped em.......LOL
Your paint job looks great......protect it from day one ! Cant wait to see the finished product!

What a gorgeous paint job. I always wondered what near-perfection of paint could be like and yours is certainly beautiful.
GREAT JOB. Can't wait to see you have this baby out and about.
Be advised tho' about the hazard of fans who lean into/over the driver's door trying to get a look inside.
I have TERRIBLE gouge marks along the left stripe leading edge from fans with belt buckles who lean into the car looking for a better view. I finally resorted to stancheons in...

Paint looks great. Looks like you chose the contemporary nose paint job versus vintage '66 which didn't have the painted "V." I actually prefer the "V" look

Thanks for the kudos boys, it been a loooooong road and oh soooooo worth it!

Here's a shot of the stripe colors work prior to masking for stripes.... Alfred painted the entire car with House of Kolor basecoat white (it also made a good sealer coat for the entire car), the Basecoat red and then clearcoat. This sat for a day or so and was wet sanded prior to masking for...

not only a BIG car to paint, but so much of it is horizontal so even harder to hold the gun, and with the fins coming up and at you on the outside edge making it even harder to reach....my sympathies!

Mark makes a great point about coverage under the tail lights and headlights (fenders), I have YET to see a replica in person that has proper coverage in these areas (haven't seen one of Mark's yet!). Much like regular cars where most painters don't get full coverage...

I really like the ' thin striping ' and the eyebrow stripe detail Paul!
Nice job!

I take 7 hours to do the striping so I'm slower but have never cut myself., and Mark's right it's a big car to paint...long arms help.

Hi guys,
I'm finally getting on the board to begin sharing my new build.
My name is Paul and I live just Northwest of Toronto Canada.
I ordered my kit from Bob Johnson a while ago and received it before Christmas.
I started tearing down my 77 Town Car in January and fortunately found this board shortly there after.
I received no instructions from Bob J until recently and that was a blessing in disguise. (no knock against Bob....he's a great guy)
The point I want to make, is...
