Thanks. I saw that one earlier, but it still doesn't show in good enough detail the "N" and the "E". What I did do is look at other photos you lucky gentleman took that day of other dash labels and used them in conjunction with period photos of the Futura to try to make my best guess of the compass markings. Here is a composite I put together, where I circled certain letters, that seem to have a common font style(the whole dash layout uses the same...

Did anyone take any photos of the compass while they were there? I need to see exactly how the "N" and the "E" are shaped for a new part I'm making for the 1/18 Mattel model.

Well, after spending a chunk of that day with Scott Sebring, Mark Racop and a few of his actor friends later in the day (and stopping at the mcdonalds across the street from Barris' shop) I am sorry I had to work that day and make TV! I would have loved to have been there. So at least we have the Feb date to relive it! JUST ONE of these photos would have made all the old board members flip, and rework their cars, I am just in bat overload looking at all 11 pages of info, photos etc....

Sounds like I'll have to go get that DVD and check into, what should be Hush-Hush! But don't tell nobody, it will be my 3rd copy of that publication. First one in DVD format, though. Shhh! That is a Awesome Model Eric, just to pay my respects to the builder though. What did G.B. say when you presented it to him? I understand if its a secret though. Kickback? Shhh! LOL

Oh no, I know THAT story well. It's been up on the site since the beginning. I meant the real story and the Barris twist on it. I don't think we're ever going to get that one.

GB has those antlers and beacon and just sits them there? PUT THEM ON THE #1 NOW GB - PUHLEASE!?!?! Is he just lazy or doesn't care??

Eric when you say "#2 car" I'm assuming you mean the RTTBC car? Dang I'm confused.

Also, there appears to be another Bat parked outside the shop in that pic... please explain?

On Friday 12/12, I was fortunate enough to go to Barris Kustom Industries and see George Barris and the #1 Batmobile. My goal was to interview George and ask him all our burning questions about the Futura and the number one car.

Since I knew in advance I was going to be at Barris' shop in the morning, I invited Mark Racop (from Indiana) and Tom Woodruff (Southern CA) to join me and film the experience....
