I have been out of the 'loop' a bit lately with a lot going on here at home. I haven't had time to sufficiently praise everyone's work, especially Doug's. I just have to say that as nice as these photos look - his work is even better in person. Meticulous doesn't even cover it.

A reminder that you can order any of his parts thru PMB and Doug is also taking on commission work to produce finished, complete dashes.

I used the 2 photo-etched pieces from the PMB p/e sheet (along with the 5 light box). I just contoured the p/e pieces to fit the dash, and hit them with a copper wire brush to buff them up a little before gluing in place. I saw somewhere where someone suggested using a part of the metal "tree" from the p/e sheet to make the top metal strip for the dash, and it worked great. I thought about black washing the slats, but decided I didn't think it needed it (could still do at any...

That is really cool as a unit!

What color are the dash slats? It's hard to tell in the pic, they look almost black except on the far right which looks more silver/chrome due to the lighting.

Or are they actually chrome finish?

Well, this is what the new d-scope looks like on a "PMB"ed out Elite or Super Elite dash. It has Scot's photo-etched roll-top sections and the 5 light box in the center from his p/e sheet.

All of Insane Detailing's amazing parts can be ordered through PMB (link on the logo). FOB is also starting to do whole dashes for those of you with limited modeling interest.
