My SE with G1 figures |
Lead | |
|
Here's the cockpit of my SE with my G1 figures as you can see..these look much nicer.Batman fig even has a shiney buckle on his utility belt and Robin
looks awesome the paint is very accurate and the figs just look sharper.Oh! Batman was a snap to put in.

I see what you mean regarding the paint/finishing that Tim did (I guess that's hardly a surprise). Although, Batman's legs look sort of weird--like
the back of his thighs was sliced off or he's sitting in a pool of black liquid. Love the Robin fig. He looks perfect.

I like the G1 much better, especially the boy wonder, although the face is not much like Burt the outfit and paint apps are great and the hand on the canopy is
the best! (even though there IS no canopy in your pic LOL) paint apps on Batman are awesome too. Mind you if I were to get either G1 or G2 I'd get them
unpainted and do them myself.
Can't wait to see G3!! |

Hey RHD, I would, but I don't have a steady hand anymore atleast not that tiny detail stuff can't do it any longer.I did however do some of the detail
on the dash but that's it.My body is at a good Friend who is doing some amazing work on it.I will post some pics of it when I get it back.It will be
something to marvel at once it's done.

My G1's and Elite | ||
|
I'm also a bigger fan of the G1 than G2 figs. The posability of the G2's are nice, but I just think the appearance and attention to detail were better on the G1's. Here's my "dynamic duo" gracing the cockpit of my Elite. No modifications yet (except I replaced the antenna on the trunk and did the antler lights in clear red), waiting for the PMB mods kit to come out.

Hey batsarge619, that looks pretty sweet, you need to paint the batray stripe really makes a difference.I too like you like the G1 figs a whole lot better.I
have both, but I'm going to sell the G2 figs later.When I get my SE body back from the shop the pics will ressemble yours, but will really be
sensational!!!!! I hope to have it back next week, then everyone who visits the board will see a different kind of SE.

Batcave; you're right about the BatRay stripe... I'm hoping someone does a correct-width (or even trim-your-own) striping decal in a color that matches
HW's orange; I suggested it a few months ago over at PMB's forums. I'd rather not try to paint it myself, as, being a perfectionist, I wouldn't
be happy if I screwed it up, or layed it on too thick, etc. My talents are not up to those of most of the builders showcased here. A decal (or similarly
painted/sealed decal paper) would be ideal for those of us with "paintbrush envy"
Can't wait to see your SE complete and posted here! Mike |

batsarge619 wrote:The decal for the batray: I've done one already. But the problem is getting the color right. Hot Wheels has a layer of white down underneath which pops the orangey red that is hard to duplicate with homemade decals. We may explore this with a pro maker later. -s |

Scott; I was actually wondering about that after I made the suggestion. I had previously owned a standard that I had to touch up the stripes on and remember
the white base coat underneath and thought that might impact the plausibility of a decal-based stripe. I figure though, if anyone can figure out how to do it
right, it will be PMB's artisans and contributors!

My SE with G1 - Elevated | ||
|
Here's my SE with the G1 figures. Note the mirrored floor of the display. I also made use of the spacers supplied by Hot Wheels to elevate the car, so
more detail may be visible - and also to keep weight off the suspension/tires - just like I do with my ragtop in the winter. Also by keeping the hood open, the
missing Batray stripes are not as visible. Once I have a little more confidence dressing up some standard models - I'll touch this one up as well, but at
over $200, I'm likely to sneeze just as I apply the brush - and that would be a bad day indeed!

Hey szabol, you and I kind of think alike, I too have the same lighted case and I love it, I'm going to have my SE in there as well, the SE metal display
with the dust cover will have my customized Elite.I'm unable to post any pics right now because I'm having a problem with photobucket.I'm really
disturbed by this.They haven't emailed me what's going on either.
Where did them 66 batmobile funny cars come from, cool! M |
