Interesting that they say in the ad that the molds are also for sale.....since a certain other builder always claims to have the original Butts molds.....
Not to be too picky, but they also claim the molds were from the #1 car, and as we all know........NOT! (#4 car wasn't it?) Still I have to admit seeing this Batmobile AND the Futura both for sale like that makes me very jealous of anybody who could afford to buy the set, how cool would THAT be? Best of luck with the sales on both cars, it's a tough economy right now and other star cars apparently are not doing well in recent sales. I would hate to see ANYBODY'S Batmobile (or Futura) sell for anything less than what it's worth!

these were part of my uncles collection. he purchased them from bob many years ago and the deal did include the molds. molds for the 66, the extensions for
the futura as well as molds for a keaton car. they were so large it took 4 trips in my 30ft trailer to move them. due to some crazy family dealing with my
late uncles estate the cars have left my shop and are at the wholesaler who is listing them on ebay.
the seller is really doing the cars an injustice as for he has no idea what they are. in the year prior to my uncles passing each and every car was restored with hundreds of thousands of dollars being spent. the futura has had over 45k in engine and mechanicals, the 66 bat has had extensive motor, suspension and exhaust work, the knight rider has a new crate motor, custom exhaust and more. some other noteworthy cars in the collection which will be up for sale include the 56 lincoln bubbletop alex drier car as well as the barris single tub bathtub... i have been caring for these cars for years and am saddened to see what has happened to them. if anyone is interested in purchasing them let me know, i can fill you in on all the details as for the seller is not well versed in their history. |

I too am saddened by another car collector's loss.
Will the Futura be offered up for sale anytime soon? Any chance we can get good post-restoration photos? I'd LOVE to see that one. Are the Futura Molds for sale? Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks for the additional info! Cool to hear the Futura molds came with the package originally too. Sorry to hear about the cars leaving in such a manner
though.

From what I have seen the man really enjoyed his cars and put allot into his hobby. I am sure you have some good memories of your uncle and his cars and that is priceless. I love the pictures of the Futura it looks cool with the wide white walls and 50s hubcaps it must of been fun to drive.
