Re: clutch | ||

I think kevbat has most of them right. However, I think that #1 is the Bat-hub-spinner and #4 is the side of the turbine exhaust port.
Of course, I could be wnorg... |

Really? Cool!
Thank you, kevbat for the assistance! I appreciate it! That hood scoop one had me going. I thought, what in the world is that? Combined we do good work! Cloth is alright, but leather is the way to go. Maybe they could get it fitted with that plastic covering like Grandma's couch had on it... BTW: Yesterday I drove by a pretty nice looking Edsel that was "For Sale". I didn't stop and kicked myself afterwards. (It was pouring rain.) I may have to go and take some pictures. |

the wheeel spinner threw me because it looked like black on the edge of the wing so i thought door bat. the turbine pic made me think of the old moon gas pedal it has because of the bumps it has on it.guess i need to look at detail more.i found the pics i found on another web site and it showed the engine as a blue block 289/302 but wasn't to sure if it was ok to load them on to here.

Here is the pic you were talking about from John Rosa's site, circa 1997.
![]() Here is same car but in 1970. Looks to have different valve covers, but not sure if the engine is the same. As you can see there are visual differences from the two tranny's, plus we know it was a manual and later changed to an auto ![]() Maybe the car originally had a 390 (according to GB) and it got swapped out with the tranny to a 289 ci!? The 1966 Ford Galaxie came with either a 289, 352, 390, 427 or 428 ci engine. Unfortunately, I didn't get to peak under the hood of the #3 when I saw it. |

Eric, When you were visiting the #3 did you get a chance to talk to anybody with knowledge regarding the history of the car. Also will the #3 be undergoing any restoration or changes in the near future? Thanks D.J. |

talk to anybody with knowledge regarding the history of the car. No Also will the #3 be undergoing any restoration or changes in the near future? None, that I am aware. The car and collection was owned by Pat Hart and since he passed is owned by his sons. Not sure of their plans for the car or his collection. Overall the car is in nice shape and looks like it was well taken care of. Yes, it does need lots of TLC, but at least it is in a beautiful (private) "home." |

Re: clutch | ||

thanks for posting that pic. the 67 pic looks like a 390 fe block . but my guess would be that it is a mid 70's or possibly early 80's 302 in it now. it has a choke pull off on it which is a mid 70's thing. also the exhaust manifold is not a mid 60's style.it's the longer runner one that also a early mid 70's thing but it also has the taller valve covers on it than they had in the mid 60's.but thinking now it could be a 351 but i can't see the deck width from the side.also it almost looks like it has a manual choke on it.i also can't see if it is electronic igntion or points.anyhow just my take on it. someone out there probally is going yahooo i got a 390 4 speed in my car. lol

Eric,
Are they possibly somehow from your last visit to Mr. Barris'?

johnwb88 wrote:Directly to the left is the BAT PHOTO SCOPE or by the ignition switch is "...HANDS..." These pics are from a Wells Cargo Press Release from early 1967 and are related to this thread. I have 5 pics and they were not from Barris. After viewing these pics I've learned that the antler light pattern was Orange/front & Red/rear, therefore the Replica seen on the show was the #4 car. I also determined that the car had all its Bat-stickers/labels typed out and the later photos where they were hand written had to be replacements based on dates, etc. Hmmm what kid or parent walked-off with them in the 60's??

E,
Are you doing some "guilt-cleansing" from something you (or a parent you knew) did in the '60's?

Nice, thanks for sharing. That seller has some great 60's car show pictures. He did incorrectly date this one as 1965.
One thing I just recently noticed, not specifically from this exact new photo, but the the #3 lost it's front bumper end hood scribe line details, both the side verticles(off the inner Bat-Ray lens area) and the horizontal (under the nose) after the 70's fuzz application removal. The #2 looks like it never had this hood detail, the #4 did and didn't lose it over the years. #3 pixs below

I never noticed that---good eye John! I know the #3 was rebuilt in 1983ish, so maybe that hood line was part of it?!
This was an email I received almost 9 years ago, "It had when bought a 352 4-sp. We installed the 302 auto. I picked it from a 78 T-Bird. We were going to do a 460 C6 Auto. Quick note,the upper and lower control arms were chromed when the car was done over,and this one had an Edsal steering wheel.The front windows were replaced but there is an interesting story what happened when I had called George to obtain the rear set." |
