Note the redline tires (ala Chris Woodside). Looks like they used common desk lamps at each corner of the display also for lighting back then.
Anybody have a straight on shot of the sign in pic #2 that is leaning on the driver rear tire? It looks to be promoting Barris' shop but doesn't look familiar to me? |

These are great photos. Jeez we rarely see vintage family photos of
the replicas & usually not of the #4 car and not in color! Very cool.
I never noticed or knew that the #4 originally had a red shift boot for the Emergency Bat-Turn Lever...and still has it too. Thanks for sharing these! |

Isn't the George Barris sign a blow up of the Hot Rod Magazine cover in which he was featured?
Nice find, AP! |

Hmmm on the phone....I have pics of the #4 with NO phone, and pics with a TV correct Batphone, but cannot find a single shot of the phone in these new pics
above! Anybody else have a vintage shot of the phone from back in the day (in the car of course!)??

Vintage pics of the #3 & #4 show the toy Marx bat-phone in the car. I assume the #2 car had a Marx phone too. None of the replicas originally had an
authentic looking Bat-phone though.

Mark Racop wrote:Dan- It is just an image of the 1966 Hot Rod magazine cover. The sign says "George Barris Creations." Tom's photos are from 2/1967. Tom told me, "In early 1967, my parents took my sister and me to the car show at the Oakland Coliseum Arena (Oakland, CA). There were tons of Hot Rods there, but the car that caught my attention the most was The Batmobile."
