My wife called me from Livingston Mall in NJ today telling me I had to get down there to see the batmobile they had on display. I asked her, "Which one?
Is it the old 1966 car, or one of the newer ones from the movies, or what??" She said, "it looks just like the one like all those hot wheels toys
you have." Off I went! Now I'd be lying if I said I totally believed her, but I was hoping for the best and expecting at least some sort of replica
of one of the batmoile versions (the tumbler would've been sweet).
When I arrived at the display, to my disappointment, it was some guy in a Keaton-style batsuit with a black late model Chevy Camaro with a spoiler, some bat insignias plastered on it, and some fancy-looking, shiny aluminum wheel bats. FEH! I didn't even bother with a cell phone camera snapshot. One upside was that his table full of batman memorabilia had a fairly nice but very beat up 1966 TV show utility belt replica. So it wasn't a total waste of my time--just a 99% waste of my time.
My wife's excuse?? "Well at least I got you out of the house today..." Argh! Anyway, I just took it in stride, spent a few minutes window shopping w/her and then went home.
