I like the list of items on the special. I would like to see working suspension as in the forks and shocks but i'm quite happy with the list. I think the
seats on both the go-kart and bike should be addressed. If this bike photo is what they're using for reference the seats are wrong on this replica as well
as some of the bodywork. No offense to the builder of this bike (I believe it to be ERIC?) but I callsem as I seesem. It is a very fine replica.

Don't ask me why I didn't reply to this thread--I saw it when it went up. I like what I see as far as features go, and it's nice to see they are
already starting to list at least some specific features of the bike that will be included. Normally we wouldn't see or hear anything directly from HW
until just before shipments start going out. This is still 6 or more months away from release.
I have an elite on preorder w/BBTS--they recently forged a better relationship w/HW, and get access to the complete line of elite vehicles along with other tough to get HW stuff. Plus they've been more reliable than any other site I've dealt with, albeit you never know when they'll get something way earlier or way later than most or around the same time. Oh, and Eric, I agree--the pics of your bike looked far nicer. |

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone here who would pay a premium for the elite? Maybe Eric because he owned one, but otherwise, who else would appreciate
the extra detail? I barely remembered the existence of a Batcycle until seeing Eric's build unfold.
I just mean that this isnt the Batmobile. Especially without any figures it really doesnt hold any special place in my heart. The Batmobile holds mystique for me chiefly because it was one of the stars of the show, and because of the Corgi toys I threw out as a child. In the 70's and 80's I went to many World of Wheels car shows just to see it, as well as the sometimes drunk crusaders if they were along. |

See a few posts up...I have an elite on preorder. Although I like the car more, I was totally into the TV show and the Batman movie as a little kid, including
all the gadgets, the batboat, copter, bike, etc. I have plenty of other memorabilia aside from batmobile toys. Not a massive collection, but not tiny either.

Fair enough! Expensive hobby though. My wife thinks I'm nuts for buying a case of little bats for $50 or so. If I bought replicas of cowls and batarangs
I'm sure I would be divorced by now.

I would pay a premium for an elite Batcycle as long as it wasn't made by Mattel. They have proven they have no regard for accuracy and just want the fast
buck. I don't believe the interest in the bike will be any where close to what the Batmobile was/has.

I think what he's referring to as the 'mistake' is - on the sheet - it says '1:12 Batmobile' when it's clearly the Bat-CYCLE...

Maybe it's the sidecar that kills some of the interest in this item?? I "like" the Batcycle, but probably would have "LOVED" the
Batcycle if it was a solo machine no side car in the series.
Maybe it's the economy? I would buy one of these if it's cheap because frankly it makes the Batmobile display I have look even better, but not so much for the vehicle itself, I really like the Batmobile the most. Same with the Bat boat---adds to the display mostly. both items are very cool, just hard to break off more cash for secondary vehicles that don't move me anywhere near as much as the primary Batmobile. But I would rather buy a Batcycle than a Penguin version Batmobile...... One thing is for sure, Eric's real life Batcycle definately raised my interest in the Batcycle about a 1000 fold, that was really a sweet bike, one that would have been fun to ride! Before his bike only the early Harley Batcycle really had any interest for me, and it's very likely we will NEVER see that replicated in toy form unfortunately.

I always absolutely LOVED the Batcycle from when I was a kid and will be getting one of each version they do. The "sidecar" (as Mattel calls it, we
all know it's a Go-Kart trailer/platform) was what MADE it for me. When I was a kid, we watched the show very sporadically before it went into syndication.
But the MOVIE was on every year around Thanksgiving when the Wizard of Oz was on. So I got to watch the movie a lot more than the individual shows (until later
on) and I fell in love with each of those vehicles that got showcased. When that sidecar launches off at the helipad - I LOVED that as a kid. Bad as
Mattel's efforts end up being, it's all we have. I am looking forward to the elite Batcycle though I am fully aware that I'll be fixing tweaking it.

All I have to say is, I want to see this thing now! Its taken this long to get anything close to the actuall 1966 vehicles is ridiculous!Yeah the Corgi model
when we all were kids, but these Hot Wheel Batmobiles, and soon to be released Bat bike are all WAY OVER DUE!
