What I meant by "resale" was let's say it's 15 years after this car was built, and for whatever reason it's time to sell it. Any prospective Batmobile buyers looking for a built car would likely pay MUCH more for the Vette chassis version than a standard Lincoln version, I'm just wondering how much more that might garner on the open market.

Especially since at times it seems that Bat buyers at big auctions don't appear to have done much research into Bats at all, so just even SAYING "Vette chassis" sounds cool and might make a guy pay some really high price happily.

I'm not aware of ANY current Bat with an undercarriage that offers any performance other than a fat cushy ride, so this is a whole new breed and ups the stakes quite a bit in my opinion.

And we all know that what a car sells for has little or nothing to do with what it costs the current owner to buy/build/have it built! If you decide to sell your car on day 2 of ownership, you can ask whatever price you want, and if someone write you a check for that, then THAT is what the car is worth!

I guess I'm just sorta comparing the "used Bat replica" market to the days when a Hemi Charger was "just a used car" and could be had for $2500 or much less. It may be my grandkids who see a relative "glut" of used Batmobiles for sale now and again, and I wonder what the selling points will be whenever that day comes.

Will a "Butts" built car be worth more since he started it? Will a Butts body built by someone other than Butts or a Currie car be worth more than Hines//Racop because it came before them?

Will there be many more Vette chassis cars by then, creating a Lincoln vs Vette price segment?

I am even curious to see how long each owner keeps the cars, some already have experianced the "Now what....." syndrome once they have finished the car, others may have financial or family issues forcing a sale, maybe they get into different cars---whatever, it'll be fun to see.

In the past there were only the #1 and Barris replicas plus the #5 car, so you never saw much for sale. Statistically given the number of shells, kits, builds floating around now and much more to come it seems, we should see some neat "FOR SALE" ads in coming years!

P.S> I certainly didn't mean to insinuate the owner was building on a Vette chassis to try and rake in some profits,(if that's what came across in my post), however even if an owner wanted to have it built that way for that reason---nothing wrong with that, this is America after all, I like a nice profit too!

Eric Sharpe has a Fiero chassis and motor Batmobile..........
