Looks like you got all your steel glassed in and the trunk and hood hinged in. Looks like you undercoated the car?
Great job so far!! |

The head light buckets look like they turned out really nice. You need to come over and mount my body, still playing around with the 89.
Fast and great work John!! |

Very innovative too...
your the first to my knowledge using the chev hinges to have the door open inwards. Congrats! |

Thanks,
I used the original hinges first-(74 lincoln) worked pretty good but switched to the chevy hinges. if you put the pivot point about 3/4" from the inside of the door skin ,I think you can use the originals with no problems. I also made in/out adjustment rods for the top and bottom of the door where the 1 inch steel tube doesn`t reach- this worked out real nice and lined the door up great. |

Hey John,
Looks like a nice Power steering mod and just in time too! I'm going to tackle the engine soon. What else have you planned for the engine and compartment? Bob Johnson's video says to use the fender skirts as the rear quarter wheel housings..... I hope to incorporate mine back into the fenders. I'm also planning to lose the smog system, add a custom air cleaner, new double electric fans, new overflow jar and new bat-tery tray. I've also decided to go with a complete new electrical wiring system. Oh ya, and electric linear actuators for hood and trunk (2 per lid) (somewhere in the video they recommended to use the existing Power Window regulators as hood and trunk openers...... ?????????) I'm going to post some pics of the radiator support and door panel hopefully tonight....stay tuned....... PS Your door shell looks great! Paul |

John,
Just noticed one of your Nov pics of the body on the chasis (left front corner perspective) and it looks very close to my left nose detail. My nose was about a full inch shorter on the left side than the right!!! I measured the fender tops from the door panel edge to the the edge of the brow and they seemed fine. BUT, when I measured the outer nose points (outer edge of grille openings), that's where I found the discrepency!!! I happened across this because I built my radiator support and hood hinge square to the car before any tubing would be glassed to the underside of the hood. It was important to me that the hood frame open "squarely" to the chasis. When I tried to square the front edge of the hood (line in the mold) to my piano hinge tubing, it was way off. I spoke with Bob Johnson about this and he was going o speak to the mold maker to ensure what it wasn't an inherent problem. It's too bad for me at this point, but we hope it's an isolated assembly case. Paul |

yea I know the grill openings are a little off but no big deal- i`m used to it, on my first Bat it was the same thing- but when your done you really cant tell unless you have a tape meas. my other kit was a currie. they both have good and bad points . i`m putting in my front fender walls and finishing the firewall this weekend. then a new painless gm wire harness 18 cir. (heres a picture)
