Thank you for your interest and comments,
Based on the Batboat and the Batmobile style here is my final sketch for the bat-trailer.
This is my way to deflect the thrust of the batmobile and protect the boat !
Cheers!
Dave

Wow! Very cool, Dave! It puts me in mind of Gerry Anderson's Supercar.

The bottom most sketch reminds me of a railroad snow plow, and I DON'T mean that as an insult! I love the old rail snow plows!
What if you eliminated the lower forward pointing peak at the front of the trailer and had it follow the contour of the bow of the boat instead, providingblast protection but looking much more aerodynamic, and possibly blending back into the rear fenders? (don't you just hate it when people tell true artists how to change their work? I DO!! I am ashamed of myself )
I REALLY like how you have the rear fender fins tilting outward to resemble the tilt on the Batmobile, nice touch, and FANTASTIC models both the car and the boat, absolutely amazing and stunning! |

Actually on my very first draft, the Bat-trailer was covering the Batboat in a fashion that we could only see the windshields and the finn protruding out of
the Heat deflector Shield and so did fenders'n tires... everything was protected !
In that version there also were question of an "emergency thrust cable" that connected the Batboat jet engine to the steering switches of the batmobile allowing Batman to use the full thrust of the boat for an extremely dangerous situation where maximum acceleration would be the only way out of danger... even the hand catch of the trailer was though to be releasable in action so the Bat-trailer would have been disconnected and the shield would have protected the boat from damage during impacts ! Has you can see I was carried away... almost though the thing to be flyable !
I backed off a bit. Now we see the skinniest version. I'm trying to get or catch the same felling or flash that a Barris or an Anderson would have had
back then, using what was available like a train snow plow (actually it's a truck front plow shaved off) ... But it's an image for now.
Stay tuned I might get on the draftboard again soon and... stretch it, put some wings on it.... !

1/4 Scale Batmobile in progress... | ||
|
First... Thank you, falcon49, hobbybuilder01 and Amazzen...
And Hello Dave, This is the Chassis in progress, I got the right dimensions this time and starting to built the front end support for the engine. The 1/18 scale Batmobile will give you an idea of the dimensions. I am anxious to see the progress on the bat trailer !!! As you can see, the base is the 1963 Renwal original plan with a real quarter scale twist. Cheers, Jean Carl

That frame is stunning in size and appearance! What material did you use for it?
I cannot wait to see this car come together, "super sized" models are my all time favorite, this should be REALLY cool when done. Do you have plans for working lights or other neat options?? Keep us posted please! ![]() ![]()

What can you say..? | ||

The level of artistic craftsmanship by MANY people on these pages is staggering! It makes my humble idea for a Corgi restoration seem trivial by comparison.
This is fantastic work. The very thought of a 1/4 scale Bat is mouthwatering. Please do keep posting the pictures for us.
