Also, I can see the extensive use of pins to hold down the individual pieces to a created template but what sort of adhesive do you use to join everything together? Finally, do you use some sort of an automotive body putty or something like an Aves Apoxy to fill and sand smooth? GIINK

There is multiple kind of balsa from the simple Balsa to Balsa-Wood and Wood, in different thickness. We define the type of Balsa or Balsa-Wood accordingly to the type of "Bend" and or "Shape" we want to do and sometime we need to use plywood to add force to the structure or a perfect straight line as base for the piece. So BEFORE you start anything there is planification and this is the key. The foam core is used sometime to fabricate the basic shape and then use it as support for balsa thrust and we cover the shape with multiples layers of balsa wood. When you Criss-Cross layers of balsa it create plywood! The good thing about this method is that you can get rid of the foam core, after the glue set, and you are still left with the empty shell. The pins are there to give the shape and to keep the balsa in place until the glue sets. I like to use a medium "ZAAP" glue and a combination of Yellow glue for wood the basic one. I do not like to sand so I try to have the shape as exact as I can but if I have to I would use finishing putty, To be continued... JC Teck...

If you like, I can print the Bat Sticker in 1/4 scale and send it to you, so you can use it to built the final Bat symbol. This is Part 2 of my Rader wheel. BTW, I just found a shop that will do the Chrome platting close to my home ! This Bat Spinner is three mm too small, I will throw this one away. I still had to show you the result ! The economy got me right in the face and I have to settle things around....BUT... It's only for a short while guys. There's a mather of fact that this situation forced me to jump to the last step of the building.... A crate for traveling the Batboat to shows around... Check this out. So don't go away 'cause the Batmobile id still going on building and JC gonna have some pics for you in a short coming... Hey JC, in what would you transport the Batcar in the futur presentation to Toyshows around ? I still have the design if the rolling crate if ever..... Dave
