1/4 Scale Batmobile Update | ||

Hello folks,
|

66BAT |

Stunning as always!
What do you have going on for the union between the driveshaft and the transmission output....looks like a spring or?? And what did you make the perfect looking license plates from? Looks like you'll have this car finished in time for Christmas...................... (hint hint if my wife is spying on me! )

Hi 66BAT, The Driveshaft is made out of two inner tubes that slide on each other so it allows me to extend them until i find the perfect position for the engine. The spring is there to keep the tension between the two tubes so it does not slip so I have enough tension to turn the wheels. There is an outside plastic skin just to give it a look. The licence plates are laminated plastic. Hi Eric, The beacon will have a rotating light and this one is a real challenge... JC Teck... |

Hello Bat-folks,
Today we spent part of the day figuring out how we could start to destroy 500 hours of work !!! My friend Dave came down to Montreal just to take a cutter knife and slip it into the batmobile with the vicious intention to get me started on the the building process... I did try to protect the Batmobile but in vain, and we ended up with door mokups ... for now ! Do not worry, Dave is still alive. And yes, my eyes are popping out of my head. The hood is next, Let's get drunk ! JC Teck... |

This is such an awesome batmobile build. I would love to be able to build a batmobile this big!!! Any idea on what the price tag may be for a basic kit of this
amazing batmobile?

That beacon looks great! You should design a full sized on and share it with the builders. They all come close, but I haven't seen on that nails it...
I love the progress reports, too! You're doing some incredible work!

Hello Folks,

Can you give us all some details of what it took to construct the door shown? Is it mainly resin or fiberglass or balsa wood? It is hard to appreciae the
talent you have when we only see the semi-finished or finished products.
Looks great & the Bat shape looks spot-on too |

Hello Eric,
Some answers... Can you give us all some details of what it took to construct the door shown? Actually you need to have a complete 1/4 Scale Batmobile and ask your best friend to put his life on the line and cut the doors for you ! ----Joking !!! LOL Let me tell you without your Web Site, CD-ROM videos and photos this could not be possible. What I want to achieve with this project is to built a mokup set that will be used to built the molds to complete at least four or five complete Batmobile bodies. Is it mainly resin or fiberglass or balsa wood? The door is a combination of Foam core, Balsa, Balsa-wood and Plywood.and right now there is only a light layer of black primer on it. This door will be used to built the molds that will come in two parts, the inside and the outside pieces. The final product? The final door will be in fiberglass and plastic. The inside leather piece of the door is to be added, I am still at the calculations step for now. The same idea will be used to built the entire Batmobile body. Thanks, Jean Carl

Jean Carl,
Once you get your project completed (and whatever kits are made available), you are going to make a lot of fellow Batmobile fans extremely envious (and probably buying a lot of lottery tickets).

Hi JC and all other batfriends... following this project.
This door is amazing ! I new that a kick in the right place would've lead you somewhere.... Hey folks you should've sean the face of JC when I got near the car with a Sawzall telling ''where's that door opening suppose to be ?'' ...... But now the result is like it should be....Ferpect ! On the Batboat side, like I said earlier the project is stopped for a while... the time needed to change the windows and redone few rooms of the house... and since my girlfriend understood that blasting a hole in a wall means, Dave will redone it different ! I decided to hide any tools that can puncture holes in sheetrock 'cause I want to get back on that boat project soon. In the meantime JC is getting busy with the Batmobile... Just to keep us on our toes... And I'm gonna have to work days'n nights to keep up with your work Budy...BUT ?....I will Keep them posted...Me I just have to call you ! David |

Hello Dave,
Glad to hear from you! I decided to include the inside design to the mold of the door, this way it will be easier to finish the interior with leather and metal. I will not forget the little rectangle light on the inside of the door and I will not use that 8 Ball for the door but something like the original futura.

...I've suggested this before for REAL replicas with non-working odometers....set the miles to read: "1966.0" !
Plans to add signal pods to the support arms??? Looks fantastic, by any chance do you work for a guy named "Santa" during the week?

Hy 66Bat,
Since this is only a prototype I did not add the signal pods yet but they will be there for the next week on the final steering wheel. And Yes your first wish is granted ! JC Teck... |

That's closer (196,000). Can you transpose a couple of those "0"s to get 001966?
