Something that won't get melted or burnt off by the turbo exhaust (AKA flame thrower).

Batboat hitch | ||

How about a pop up like the bat-ram on the front. You'll have to clear the "exhaust", but it is achievable - perhaps a V shape starting under the
batchutes.

How about... | ||

A 1/4 scale duplicate of a real trailer hitch, with a major Bat modification. The box tubing opening would be just a hair higher than the ball height so that
it can be retracted back into itself. More like the slasher blade up front but you don't risk hitting the ground like a flip up style.

Since a real turbine is made of metal,why not just "make" a retractable hitch that is "exhaust-proof" out of a similar "metal".
It could have a "ceramic" ball joint on the trailer side to prevent heat from being "transferred".You could use a shield in front of the
boat (but still mounted to the Batboat trailer) that looks like the folding bullet shield B & R use. I'm sure there must be some sort of special glass
that could withstand the heat at a short distance from the car's exhaust (it would keep those pesky bugs from splattering all over the front of the boat
while in transit, too). Hey, Batman has access to all sorts of trick materials and "stuff".

Hello Dave and Hello folks !
We did not took any breaks at all renovating and stuff but we will be back soon, next week I'll have some pics of the first mold piece ! Just after The Fan Expo 2009 in Toronto... Since then I am always looking for 1/4 scale objects that will help me complete my final setup. Last week I found this Trolley jack You should see it under the batmobile.. you will soon. And FANOFBATS...Your "retractable hitch that is exhaust-proof" is a winner I will work on that! JC Teck... |

Looking forward to more updates on this thread. Following these big project threads is apparently a long-term commitment (like Don C's thread about the
progress of the "street-worthy" '89 movie car he's building). Worth the wait, though.

Nice new stuff! What's the clear-ish tubing attached to the frame in the upper pic??

Hello 66BAT,
The inner tubing you see is actually the Brake line for the right side of the car. The Brake pedal is pushing brake fluid into the system. All I have to find now is a quarter scale person to press the brake pedal while sitting in the car.

jctech,
The progress on your 1/4 Bat is going wonderfully. Please posting photos!
I went back to see how your 1/12 buck did, and was amazingly surprised and disappointed to see it went for only $49.99. I wish someone had given you a much fairer price for it.

Ya know, I thought that line would be for working brakes....but then thought...NAH why would anyone go that far......guess I was wrong!
What all do you plan to have functional on this car? And when will you make a 1:1 functional car....that would be easier than trying to find 1:12 humans to drive this one!

Funny, that's EXACTLY what we all see in our minds everytime you post an update on the build!
Now if you could just make one of your completed Batmobile models "just appear" like that under my Christmas tree this year....I'd REALLY be impressed then!
Any chance we'll see wider "hot rod" type tires on this model by the time it's finished instead of the bone stock factory skinny's it currently sports? |
