Unlicensed 1:43rd scale resin Batmobile |
Lead | |
|
Kevin, one of our members, tipped me off to this 1:43rd car on
eBay. Anyone know anything about these cars? Doesn't look like a Comet or GADM. Overall for the $ looks pretty nice.

Looks like there are more on eBay from other sellers. Seems to be from Hong Kong or China and it says "resin"
Another auction with more info. |

Interesting E!
You got me on this one. It appears to have some resemblance to an old Corgi in some ways, but then looks nothing like it in other ways. The paint job looks to be REALLY well done from the pics. The first ad said they were hand made, that's quite a high level of finish and detail for a resin car and only $89 buy it now on one ad! I am curious to learn more about this little bugger! |

The seller responded and said, "Hi there, This is a handmade model car built by model maker. It
is made in resin and coverd in high quality paint after polishing by hand. It can be removed from the base but the wheels do not roll."

I must've missed that thread--thanks for the heads-up Scot.
If someone owns one I'd like to hear their thoughts & see more pics. If it gets a rave review I wouldn't mind adding it to my collection. The base looks a little cheesy/junky though. |

"wheels do not roll"
Well forget that! WHY make ANY car with wheels that don't roll even if it is aimed at adult collectors? Why not make airplanes without wings........Spock without pointy ears.......Wonder Woman without her---"wonder".......! |

I am posting Kevin's (board member) review and pictures too.
Well Here we go. I very much recommend this replica to round out your 1/43 collection. Here is why. The Body: I am pretty sure that this is a resin copy of the GDAM with some tweaks but since I sold mine a few years ago I can't be sure. This is much thinner than the old corgi and the wheel arches are well... much different, smaller overall. (I do not have one to compare with). Clean paint and well done red stripes... Best scale to car. The Bat logo is off but not bad in my opinion. The glass is a knock off of the old corgi. Figures: Well painted corgi replicas Interior: Nice roll bar, arch, siren, wheel, phone,Robin's detect-o-scope etc... Just enough The Chassis Plastic I think but a nice tip of the cap to corgi here. The Wheels are rubber and do not roll. Would be very easy to make them do so if you want. The quality: This is by far the best "handmade" replica on the market. Clean paint and photo-etch. I paid 89.00 US for mine and I feel it is well worth the money. Even though there is one vendor on ebay for 59.00 I am still happy with what I paid. That is all for now... Be well fellow citizens.... With the exception of that crazy door bat, I like it!

Almost looks like a felt liner between the body and the bottom plate? (in the underside pic)

EMS Batmobile 1:43-scale
|
Hi,
today I received the 1:43-scale Batmobile. And what can I say ? The price is a laugh and it just looks stunning !! Overall finish is just super, it comes with a nice transparant cover, too. And the box itself is also very nicely done. According to Eric this is a non licensed product, so get one, before it is too late ! I think this could be a replica of the Corgi-Batmobile and I am pretty sure, because you can see the Batman-figure on the underside ! Please let me know if you want one missed it. I might be able to get one for you in january next year ! Kind regards. Joop from The Netherlands. (ps I paid $59.99 for it - Chinese eBay-seller - no problems ) |

I'm not getting one or selling any...but just realized that for about $60 that's cheaper than paying one of our talented model builders to apply the
red trim stripes to an old Corgi---might be worth buying just on that logic alone!

|||

Just so everyone knows...
|
I would never charge $60.00 just to apply stripes, and although this is an exceedingly nice piece, and has it's own drawbacks, I have seen one in person and it's well worth $80.00 or more. ...Speaking words of wisdom...let it be.

maybe not as corgi as we thought
|
The cockpit , robin and the canopies are near dead on copies and the short nose and door wing placement also smack of corgi , there are significant
differences in the body.

I also see there are differences in both models, but I wonder if Corgi would reply to this model, since they look pretty the same.
Nevertheless, a good price for such a lovely model. Have you seen the black box it comes in ? It says "Batmobela" ! |
