This is the saddest thread I've ever read here. This car should not look like this.

Seems | ||

like some areas like the heater controls might just need some cleaning with a q-tip and cleaning and polishing with some fine steel wool would do wonders.

Yes the real and true BATMOBILE has a lot of BAT-tle scars as any true crime fighting car should have,its part of the job.As bad as it is,it still holds more
value to me than any other car in the world,bar none!!!!!!!!!!THANKS AGAIN FOR THE PICS KEEPEM COMING (`^^`)

Interesting (missing) detail....
|
Thanks again, for sharing this great documentation; And even though its somewhat disheartening, its good information.
As I work away at my dash, I recently noticed a detail which is clearly not on the #1 today....
This "step" is key to getting the panel overlay (around wheel hub) tight to the upper dash panel and uniformly matched to the door slats.

ChopperModel wrote: I agree in a way, but at least the car is still with us and not altered too much. There are so many famous cars out there that are "missing" or drastically modified after shooting. Below is a photo of an object Tom and I were looking at in the trunk. It looks to be the chain slicer from the front nose area, but not the "original" since the shape of it is way off. I meant to ask GB what this was and what the other tools in the trunk were, but ran out of time.

Peculiar... | ||

How's come DonC's post (#67) had been done on 1/1/66?? Has he perfected a 'Way-Back' machine to go back to when the #1 was young??

whats up | ||

with the beacon and antlers hanging there? They look more accurate than the current number 1 ones

Beacon Light and Antlers?

I asked GB about the Beacon Light and Antlers and he said that Andy Perillo made them for him. |

That would be me there on that visit, documenting and ogling at all the custom scale models of the Batmobile in George's display cases while the rest of
you guys alien-autopsy the real car LOL. I know so many people have presented him with scale models over the years. I would love to see them all. Not the
least of which would be better shots and details of Eric's model. (Oops sorry, I mean the studio filming miniature 1/4 scale model that they used in the
original series...)

why not on the car, much better than the current antlers that alone would be a major improvement over what is currently there. If you guys can get some close
up pics of Erics and other models of the car that would be a major interest as well.

Oh man... | ||
|
GB has those antlers and beacon and just sits them there? PUT THEM ON THE #1 NOW GB - PUHLEASE!?!?! Is he just lazy or doesn't care??
Eric when you say "#2 car" I'm assuming you mean the RTTBC car? Dang I'm confused. Also, there appears to be another Bat parked outside the shop in that pic... please explain? |

"The car outside" | ||
|
.......is just a Batmobile painted on the glass for people to view from the street. It's not a real car. Just like that Model Eric supposedly built
isn't real either.
Hell the #1 isn't real. That's not even GB. That's Ma Barker in a housecoat............. |

Shhh! | ||

Sounds like I'll have to go get that DVD and check into, what should be Hush-Hush! But don't tell nobody, it will be my 3rd copy of that publication.
First one in DVD format, though. Shhh! That is a Awesome Model Eric, just to pay my respects to the builder though. What did G.B. say when you presented it to
him? I understand if its a secret though.
Kickback? Shhh! LOL
