Hey Don, Are you gonna blow the motor apart and do a full rebuild? If so, what upgrades is this baby gonna get. thanks D.J. |

Re: DAY 4 >>> 89' BAT | ||

Nope DJ,
it's a low miler and pretty tight as is so at the most a new carb, distributor etc and some chrome and of course paint...an industrial metallic mix which I picked up today, goes with the 'Dark Knight theme. |

Ugly no more.....
The mechanical details of my 89 will have a 'machined' industrial look.

Re: DAY 6 >>> 89' BAT | ||

I agree 100%!
Case in point...my new Gen 3 ACR '66 kits, simply the straightest, sleek'est, sharpest most accurate bodyshell available in North America ready to paint gloss black right out of the box. NO ripples in the wings, NO bodywork required! Now who else can say that? ![]() ![]() |

Re: DAY 8 >>> 89' BAT.....on the BIG JIG
|
Doesn't appear as though you made the fixture with adjustable legs, is there any built in ability to shim your jig if needed to compensate for floor surface or ambient tempuratures?
Although it looks beefy enough that maybe it just doesn't need anything?? nice tool though! |

Re: DAY 8 >>> 89' BAT.....on the BIG JIG
|
Funny you mention that Dan, because of its size and girth ..1/4" wall thickness it's almost level as is but each leg (of six)has an access hole to massive level adjusting shims.
I'll be also using this jig to 'square up' my fullscale Jupiter 2. |

Re: New Headers fit fine......
|
Hi Don, Your project is coming along very nicely. Yup, the headers seem a bit low. Do you plan on thermal wraping your headers? or ceramic coat them? Just wondering. Keep up the great work, can't wait to hear the beast fire up!! D.J. |
|||

Re: New Headers fit fine......
|
No not going to coat the headers...it's more of a trial and error attempt with these full length headers. I could easily buy shorty headers or a cast iron header and save myself the hassle but then I couldn't get creative...haha.
And yes there will be an actuating panel...or several on this Bat. |

I agree V 194!
Don, let's stay with the "gothic" theme; it's not a Mad Max Movie.... I'm intrigued with the cooling engineering.. will it be adequate and how does it work in this particular application? (I'm not familiar with the 89 design specs). No rush with the literal reply, I can wait for the pics.. |
