Since this may well be the only current all Steel replica of the # 1 to be built I think the divots will even more so 'authenticate ' it....
I'm using the fiberglass bodyshell as a buck or 'station form' to form and fit each 20 gauge steel panel for accuracy, also using a profile
gauge so the contours are right on too. Any lap seam you may see in my pics will be later cut and fully rewelded off the buck when the steel bodyshell is
complete
for a seamless finish throughout where possible. There are not many flat panels at all on the 66 as the hood for example curves both way across and downward so
the metal has to be pulled and stretched each way to fit properly...that's where the lines of the car are deceiving..it looks flat but it isn't.
That's one way to tell an 'original ' replica from a non replica...ie Butts vs sculpted.
Ghia really built the Futura very well way back when. As for a All Steel Futura replica in value certainly at least double what most replicas are going for at
the very least...in my humble opinion.
