Is this real!?! | ||

If it is I gotta have one! What can you tell us? Is there really a kit in there?

$300 (open) to $500 (sealed) due to scarcity, car, and Barris name on the box. While the economy may suppress some items, something as rare as that still
commands a premium.

That kit rarely surfaces, surprisingly I have seen it as low as $65 and foolishly DIDN'T buy it years ago (DOH!!).
I think Tony or Scot could tell you what the actual body was inside, I have since forgotten. Would be a great collectible and I would expect to pay $125 MINIMUM for that. |

I have never seen that before.

IF ANYONE... | ||

...has one of these either for sale, or that I could rent for the purpose of copycasting. PLEASE contact me!
I've had an image in my head and a recurring dream (no lie!) that I found
just that kit in a hobby shop. I freaked when I didn't have enough to buy it but I always thought it was just a dream...now I don't know.

You're not hearing voices, too, are you, Futurabat6543?? If so, just don't answer 'em...and you'll be ok.

Holy cow! Your dream is pretty much what my reality was! My brother in C.A. found the kit for sale in a hobby store window out there, and emailed me to ask if I'd be interested. Of course back then there WAS NO Batmobile model kits (that I knew of) other than the Aurora kit. So I had him send me a pic and that was the kit. Back then $65 seemed a bit steep to me, especially not knowing what was inside so I told him thanks but no thanks.......DOH! DOH!DOH! DOH! DOH! DOH!!!!

Is it 1/25? I think that is what the side of the box says. Since it already opened, can you take a few photos of what the parts looks like? What is your
opinion of it? Is it like the Aurora, or different? Curious also on what is molded plastic, chromed, etc.
If it is a larger scale, this is really a find. I've seen a lot of people over the past 10 years or so do concept or specially created packaging to sell their one-offs or limited editions., but if this is an AMT release, that really something.

I just tried looking on Goolge for a " T421" AMT kit (that's what your box looks like to me, if I'm wrong, let me know). It comes up with a
1/25 Bobby Alison 1972 Coca Cola Chevy NASCAR kit and a "disco" Ford Van. They have additional numbers after the "T421" to help identify
them.
Since George's image is on it, I'm sure would know if no one else comes forward with the background of it. |

I too have never seen this box or model! Interesting to see a version with REAL "BAT-FUZZ" detail! I wonder if it was an authorized AMT release as
I'm not sure it was ever listed in their catalogs?
Here is the only Barris variation I have seen prior to this one.

AP,
What scale is it? |

Not sure? I have box pics of these Barris resin collections of the Batmobile, the Munster Koach, the Drag-u-la, the Black Beauty. I believe from T n' T
Productions, perhaps cast as the same scale as the original vintage models?

A Pennyworth wrote:That is a T&T Productions resin kit authorized or approved by GB, but it is not a licensed product. It came out around 1996. |

And what scale is it? Actually, both cars.

Since we are speaking about Batmobile models....I have a few for sale just posted as of tonight exclusively on Eric's board here

I have a TnT Koach. I believe they're 1/16-1/18 scale. National Hobbies that used to be in Fridley, (I think it was,) MN had a TnT Batmobile, but I think
they wanted $100 for it. I opted for a Miky Bat from Italy instead. (Which as 66BAT has, it's not built, yet.)
Still looking for a Dragula.

I AM FREAKIN STUMPED MAN! | ||
|
I have been searching every part of the web , yahoosearh and google, even ebay, NOTHIN! I mean nothing nowhere about nothing at all. However, I know
the model kit industry and i'll lay my last dollar that this particular kit was a market tester that never got made. World of Wheels has been around since
before the kit was supposedly made in 1975 right? I'm guessing, this was a limited run by AMT (who held the liscence on the Munsters cars at that time) for
the World of Wheels promotion department as an event only item. In other words, these kits were most likely made in a run of 25 to 50,000 or less and sold at
WoW events until they run out. This is only my guesswork but promotions like this are almost commonplace now just like sdcc exclusives. What's the kicker
you ask? I was at a 1976 WoW show and there wasn't even a hint of such a thing! This kit is now my holy grail gentlemen! ha hhah...HAh HAH...HA HA HA
...ha ha HAh HAH ...okay i'm better now.
What gets me here is...AP is stumped...Eric is stumped...Myself, Fan of Bats, Lord Fogg...none of us knew this baby existed! And I just remembered, round two just acquired the rights to MPC and AMT's mold vaults! I'm already putting together a letter to Round Two to make sure they know they have posession of these if they exist. I can't remember his name right now, but the guy that runs RoundTwo used to own Playing Mantis wich brought us the nice little futura diecast. They originally wanted to do the Batmobile but got stalemated by the license. We need to let him know about this kit.

Actually you can add me to the list of "Stumped" folks...now that I see the TNT Kit I realize it was the TNT kit I was thinking of that I had the
chance to buy, not the WOW AMT kit.
So what do we have to do to see the kit inside one of those WOW AMT kits!?!?!?! |

E,
When you can, could you ask George about it? |

Yes, seeing the parts will definitely reveal a lot about it.
We need a "smiley" with a Sherlock Holmes hat, pipe, and magnifying glass. I bet we could use that one a lot around here. |
