Keep in mind that when the Danbury Mint finally put out a batmobile, so did Polar Lights and Corgi in the same scale. Polar Lights did both a metal and plastic
kit. In addition, DC Direct had their own model. Mattel had an opportunity to make a kit from their model division - heck they already had the scans - but that
was a deal with Hot Wheels division. So Mattel blows it and opens the door for Polar Lights!

The packaging hasn't been finalized. It's still subject to change.
This is the same thing that was posted earlier, but bigger and clearer.

Mattel bought Monogram in 1968 | ||
|
Sorry my info is out of date. Mattel bought Monogram back in 1968, but sold it in 1984. My bad (and perhaps their's as well)

About how big would a 1:25 scale car be then?

Isn't that roughly the size of the Corgi? I'm terrible with scales...(I hear there's a cream for that though....)

If all goes well it should be about 8 and 1/2 inches long. Like this:

LMF--if you mean the old Corgi 267, that one is supposedly 1/43. So 1/25 should be a little smaller than double the size of the old Corgi.

Yup. That'd be what I had in mind. Told ya I was terrible with scales

If we are to believe... | ||
|
...that the real length of the car is 225 inches, then exact 1/25th scale would be nine inches.

That's the catalog where I got the picture I posted in post #82 of this thread.
They asked that if I shared the image from the catalog I was to mention that the packaging wasn't finalized and would likely change from the image shown. So, be aware of that and don't get your heart set on that as the box.

Not again! These dang toy companies and their sketchy release dates...

I'd rather they keep moving the date back, than not telling us anything. There are production delays, that is to be expected. Sometimes they can be
predicted and can be reflected in the projected release date. Sometimes they can't. At least they're bothering to keep us informed. To me that says
something...
