This great news for anyone who wants extras to either bash on with their kids, or to try their hand at modifying. Too bad they couldn't have started out
this cheap.

Down Under we haven't seen them on the shelves in ages. They cost about $AU80 each for the standard model for the few short weeks they lasted. I got my
elite on pre-order for $140. Today bidding starts at $AU50 on evilbay for a standard, or buy now for about $70. Even buying them at these cheap prices from the
US the shipping charges and exchange rate make purchasing multiples prohibitive.
Still I'm glad I spent the extra on the elite. In my opinion it was the best value model released, but with all it's inaccuracies, if you have the extra $$ to upgrade it with PMB extras then the base model is all you need, really. |

I found 8 Batmobiles at ToysR US in Queens, NY.
I noticed that there is a quality issue in this run compared to the original run with the wider pinstripes. Most of the 8 cars had obvious dirt in the paint ,fingerprints, scratches. Could these be seconds? What kind of quality has anyone else found? |

Eric, I couldnt help but pick up one at the 14.99 price. Its a great deal especially when the 1/50 scale is on the shelve for 9.50. I already used a silver
Sharpie paint pen and the windows frames are looking good. Has anyone used Novus polish on the body? Buffs out the model nicely.

AlanNY wrote: yeah Alan--those problems have been there since the very first run of these (from TRU or anywhere else)--tons of smudges and occasionally other quality issues (wheel bats knocked off, defects in the pinstiping, blah, blah, blah). |

Those aren't 'defects'....they're 'rarities'...and make them that much more valuable. Those HotWheels guys must be Amish...they
don't waste ANYTHING...
