If I try and go with a steering wheel that is close/replica of the original Batmobile steering wheel as possible, will any steering column do ?
Also, I noticed on the internet power door latches, any opinions on these ?

Just for the sake of not starting another thread, I have some other questions I would like to ask.
In the past I've read where you guys have used mustang seats for your bat. Other say they have used Galaxy seats and I even believe I read, Thunderbird seats. Some say the mustang seats are too little for the bat or they jsut to give it a full look. Any interior pictures you guys have of your seats ? Also, everyone speaks of Ford seats, is that due to the Batmobile was originally a Ford and you try to maintain Ford parts ? Would GM or Mopar seats not work ? |

The main problem that you are facing is that the Lincoln transmission tunnel is not centered in the floor pan. In addition, the center console and the door
sills/frame rails are potential contact points. You will also want to consider the height of the seat from the floor pan to make sure your legs will fit under
the steering wheel, and that your head will be inside of the rear windshield.
Mustang seats fit easily and allow quite a bit of movement. Thunderbird seats work pretty well, too. Many seats are too wide for the space or too tall. PS: We custom-build Futura-accurate seats. ;) |

Really depends on if you prefer a ' full ' seat or a flatter seat and width is a consideration also between your console and door panel etc.
I tend to use a Ford mid size seat such as the t bird, galaxie etc , these seats also come with large chrome trim on the back whereas the mustang doesn't. Brand doesn't matter...they all work. |

To answer some of your questions, I use the power door latch kits from www.autoloc.com they work great!! and I also use
their 10" 200lb linear acuators to open the hood and trunk, 2 on the hood and 1 on the trunk, by using those there is no need for hood and truck latches,
and the travel is adjustable.
